Chef Jay's Not So Traditional Thanksgiving Recipe Collection
Chef Jay's Thanksgiving recipe collection? Are you kidding? Is no recipe sacred? NOPE.
I have brought my love for hot and spicy foods home to the biggest family feast of the
year. This Thanksgiving recipe collection will leave grandma's ears smoking! So, hold on tight
and enjoy a fiery ride through the holiday recipe hall of fame.
When I think about the holidays, meaning the days surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas in
the United States, I think of food and football. Or more precisely, lots of food and lots
of football.
Each holiday recipe I am going to show you will be familiar. But, of course they will all
involve different ways to make an ordinary Thanksgiving recipe hot and spicy.
Betty Crocker I'm not, but hey, I understand some folks don't enjoy fiery foods the way we do. So, for a more traditional approach to cooking, or just some good old fashioned recipes like Grandma used to make, check out the
E-Cookbooks Library
. You won't believe all that is available here, for all your recipe and cooking needs, especially during the holidays.
Now, what I have in mind for some tasty hot and spicy holiday recipes of course begins
with turkey recipes. Check out this smoked turkey recipe, it will show you how to impress your relatives at the next holiday gathering.
Next, I'll show you some simple ways to make ordinary vegetables and side dishes jump right off the plate.
No Thanksgiving recipe collection would be complete without a mashed potato recipe
. If you've never had spicy garlic mashed potatoes, you must try these. And if you think I can't spice up your favorite sweet potato recipe, you'd be wrong, I'll show you how.
Then, I'll give you a Thanksgiving recipe with an asian twist. Baked cheese macaroni
is a traditional dish, but this macaroni and cheese recipe will make Grandma's eyes water.
Or if you want to try peppers in your mac, green chile baked macaroni and cheese is the way to go.
Looking for ways to spice up the old family casserole dishes? We've got a green bean recipe
with onions and peppers, you won't know what hit you. And an old family corn recipe with a creamy
heat you won't want to miss.
No family gathering can do without my recipe for cornbread
. It will knock your socks off, literally!
And, this cornbread goes great with my baked ham soup recipe, another great way to use your thanksgiving recipe leftovers. If you have any leftover from this chipotle glazed baked ham recipe
, you'll have to make some of this soup.
For desert, what says holiday recipe more than a pumpkin recipe? I'll show you a couple of ways to fire up the old pumpkin!
We've got a traditional pumpkin pie recipe, a pumpkin cheesecake recipe and finally, my favorite a spicy pumpkin cookie recipe.
So, browse through my Thanksgiving recipe collection and try the ones that appeal to you most. Your family may not be ready for them all just yet. But, give them a chance and in a few years you'll be having a chilehead holiday!
Oh, and don't forget to check out my new collection of leftover turkey recipes. There are numerous ways to use your leftover turkey, so don't let any of it go to waste.
