Spicy Italian Meatball Recipe!

This amazing italian meatball recipe is even better if you add some chopped jalapeno to the mixture, but be careful not to hurt the kids. I would suggest making two batches just to be safe.

Some Italians may not agree, but this is my favorite meatball recipe. Give it a try and I think you'll agree with me!

Italian Meatball Recipe

Ingredients
For the meatballs:
1 lb. ground beef 2 slices of white bread dipped in a little milk (to make it soft)
1 egg
parmesan (2-3 Tbs)
salt
parsley
For the sauce:
2 Tbs. olive oil 2 large cans of canned peeled tomatoes
1 onion
1 stalk of celery
1 peeled carrot

Directions
For the Sauce:
Place the oil, canned tomatoes, onion (cut in quarters) celery and carrot in a pot and let it reach a light boil and keep cooking while you are preparing the meatballs.
For the Meatballs:
Soak the bread slices in a little mils and remove excess milk (squeeze them a little). In a bowl mix the ground meat with the milk soaked bread, the parsley, the parmesan and the salt (if you want you can substitute the parsley with the cooked spinach). Once the mix is homogeneous add the egg and continue to mix. Make meatballs (smaller the size quicker they cook!) and lay them on a plate.
Cooking Time!!
Place the meatballs in the tomatoe sauce gently. Do not mix the sauce with a spoon for a while otherwise you will smash the meatballs and end up with a Ragu' sauce instead! Cook for 30-45 min (depending on the size of the meatballs-quarter size will take about 30 min) to check for readiness cut open a metball it should not be pink in the inside. A good side of mashed potatoes goes well with this dish!
