Hybrid Cars For The Chile Pepper Lover!
Like many of you, hybrid cars have become a serious alternative mode of transportation for me. As you know I live in Texas and this summer after the hurricanes came through gas prices skyrocketed!
I know this has nothing to do with chile peppers or cooking, but it is something that is affecting all of our lives in a big way.
I never thought I would see the day of $3 gas prices, but there we were. Walking never seemed like such a viable alternative. Gas mileage was all of a sudden the topic of many conversations. And hybrid vehicles were becoming a smart solution to a growing problem.
I had lots of questions about hybrid cars though. I had never really looked closely at how they work and what the alternatives were.
So, as I love to do, I got on my computer and started to do some research. I found some very informative articles on hybrid cars and began to educate myself.
Perhaps the most interesting thing I found out was the fact that you can claim a $2000 tax credit in the year you purchase a hybrid vehicle. Now that caught my attention. And I also noticed that prices for these vehicles appear to be on the way down for 2006 models.
There will be many more models for you to choose from in the very near future. Manufacturers will be scaling back their SUV operations and tooling up for new hybrid models to come.
If you are seriously thinking about purchasing a hybrid car, first check and see what kind of tax credit you are eligible and take that into consideration. I think it just might push you over the edge like it has over 150,000 new hybrid owners already.
I hope this information has helped you in a small way. Now get back to my chile pepper recipes and enjoy some hot and spicy foods!
