Beef Stew Recipe

This crock pot beef stew recipe is so easy you can throw the simple ingredients in your pot in the morning and come home to a wonderful dinner and a house filled with delicious aromas.

Start out with 1 1/2 pounds of stew meat, cut into bite size chunks. Toss into your pot, on hi setting, along with a half stick of butter. Add 3 onions quartered, 3 Idaho russet potatoes, peeled and cubed, and 3 jalapeņos, chopped, stems removed. Season liberally with salt and pepper, and if you wish, ground red pepper.

To complete your crock pot beef stew recipe, pour a bottle of beer over the ingredients, and cover. After 30 minutes, reduce heat to lowest setting and leave it alone for at least 6 hours, longer if you wish. 30 minutes before serving, add a package of frozen green peas.

Of course, I add jalapeņos and ground pepper to make this beef stew recipe my own, but you can substitute your favorite peppers and make it as spicy as you like! And if you would like more vegetables, such as tomatoes or carrots or corn, you can add them at the beginning.
