From Chef Jay to Webmaster?
My transformation from Chef Jay to Webmaster was an unlikely
one, but not quite as outrageous as you might think.
Becoming a chef is a very fulfilling profession. Anyone interested in starting a career in the culinary field should check out Culinary Institutes
. They help people launch or advance careers in culinary, one of today's fastest growing professions.
After hanging up my shingle as a personal chef two years ago, I decided
that I needed a web presence.
After all, everyone has a website these
days, why not Chef Jay?
While it is pretty easy for anyone with limited technological knowledge
to build a site for little or no money, building a site that is popular and easy to find is a whole other ballgame.
In order for my site to bring in traffic from people searching for
recipes and sauces, I knew it had to be search engine friendly. But, how would I achieve that, I was just a chef?
After months of searching, and trying to build it on my own using Microsoft Front
Page and free hosting, I came across SiteBuildIt!
The page builder templates were way easier for me to understand than
Front Page, and the step by step (literally) instructions provided by
Ken Evoy, the creator of SiteBuildIt!, made it simple for me to create pages daily.
And now, even if you do prefer to build your site with Front Page, you
can still use the SiteBuildIt! suite of tools like hundreds of other
webmasters are already doing. (If you are already an established webmaster, check out this section of SiteBuildIt!:

)
Don't get me wrong, it is a lot of work. Don't let anyone tell you that building a website is easy. There is no quicky fix to building
a popular website. But, I guarantee you that if I, Chef Jay, can build
a website that now has over 20 pages ranked in the top 10 at Google,
anyone can do it.
The bottom line is this. If you want to put your knowledge to work for
you at your very own website, SiteBuildIt! is the place to GO.
